TAPF UK awarded with 'Social Impact Project of the Year' 2022

The Akshaya Patra Foundation UK has been awarded with the recognition 'Social Impact Project of the Year' during the UK-India week, in Britain in 2022. The Guest of Honour at the fourth annual UK-India Awards VIP ceremony near London was former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, in honour of his own dedication towards strengthening this important bilateral relationship.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation or TAPF is the world’s largest midday meal provider for underprivileged children. It has provided over 3 billion meals across India linking the need for education with the need for nourishment.

During the Corona Virus pandemic, the charity launched a state-of-the-art kitchen in Watford, North London with the help of the GMSP Foundation. The kitchen has already provided over 500,000 nourishing Ayurveda-inspired vegetarian meals to the most needy, mainly children. Our efforts to be actively providing food relief to the victims of the war in Ukraine has found recognition too. ''We receive this award on behalf of the millions of children and persons we serve. " - Bhawani Singh Shekhawat, CEO of TAPF UK-Europe.
