Monica

Dancing helps Monica forget about troubles –literally dancing her troubles away – and it helps keep her totally engaged physically, emotionally and socially. When asked about her passion, she says, “Dance is my way of expressing emotions”

She comes from a family of eight - her parents and five siblings. Although she dances to forget her troubles, she bravely acknowledges the difficulty faced at home, her parents struggle to support the family, she adds, “I notice mother crying sometimes.”

Her acceptance of reality only emboldens her spirit, she is more determined than ever to be successful and support her family.

Being an avid dancer, Monica practices a lot in school, she must have access to sufficient nourishment to keep her energized, when asked about her food intake, she says, “The food served in school keeps me active. Akshaya Patra’s Mid-Day meals are nice. It comes hot every day.”

We wish Monica and her entire family all the very best for the future.
